Athena Media to conduct major consultancy for BAI

Athena Media has been appointed to conduct a consultancy review of the Irish broadcasting market for the new Irish regulator the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.
The company was appointed at the beginning of June following a tender competition. The project is led by Athena Media's MD Helen Shaw.
The project forms a key part of the BAI's strategic review and will audit the economic and environmental aspects of Irish broadcasting including digital television, public broadcasting and the transition online.
International comparative work is a central part of the project's focus. The project team is international by nature and includes Hessel A. Spaink who is based in the Netherlands as well as Professor Robert Picard, a global expert on media economics and the business of media.
