Athena Media has created a short video 'Car-Den' around the story of landscape gardener Peter Donegan and his morris minor encapsulated garden. The feature was broadcast on RTE TV on May 17th and is proving a popular hit on the Athena Media MySpace Page . Peter's garden is a fun concept which mixes vintage cars and back to basics gardening. He teamed up with John Friel a vintage car enthusiast in north county Dublin and enlisted the support of Tully nurseries to make a garden with a Beatles touch. The Beatles track 'Baby you can drive my car' will play from the 'Car-Den' which he calls 'No Rubber Soul' and it will mixes entertainment and gardening in a homage to all the DIY tasks left started but unfinished by men!
You can see the garden in the Phoenix Park during the Blooms Festival over the June Bank Holiday weekend. If you can't get to the garden festival and see Peter's work you can always enjoy ours - online. See our 'Car-Den' show here.
