Its only rock and roll . . .
TweetWell the dust has settled after our first year bash in Radio City last week. Thanks for coming if you made it and thanks for all the generous contributions to Teenline Ireland. I promise they’ll make a difference. Our TV piece on Teenline Ireland goes out on RTE TV this Thursday April 26th at 7pm so please do tune it and see the show. Its on Capital D, the series RTE TV presents about Dublin. The whole show this week is based in Tallaght and our story fits in as Teenline started in Tallaght and is an extremely positive community story coming out of the area.
Things we learnt from last week is that event management is hell but then we only have a birthday once a year so that’s OK. We also had some outstanding photos from Julien Behal, the photographer, and many of them made it to the press particularly the shots of The Chakras and Shaz Oye and Leanne Harte. We’re very appreciative of everything the bands did for us on the night and we hope good things come for all of them as both The Chakras and Leanne Harte have new albums out. For us it was also amazing to work with Radio City, the venue down by Busaras. They were simply outstanding, very helpful and committed and we hope we’ll be back there again. We’d love to do regular 02 Making Waves gigs showcasing the best of new Irish music so maybe the time is right for all that to happen in our second year. Many of our bands and artists just go from strength to strength. Anyone who is curious can check out the first year compilation album we’ve produced which is online in podcastingireland.ie and its available through iTunes - all free and 13 great track courtesy of our artists. We have a unique gift to offer our blog readers - an exclusive CD of that compilation album with stunning artwork from our own Anita Walsh. Anyone who wants a copy simply has to tell us who our first client is in the current clients list and email anita@athenamedia.ie with the answers and put Athena Media blog in the subject line. Its great, its free - what more could you want??
talk soon,
Helen
